Denū Hotel & Spa opened in downtown Phoenix on 16 September 2026, a 236-room boutique property that its developer, Pacific Hospitality Group, describes as the neighbourhood’s first upscale urban retreat. The 17-storey hotel, part of Pacific Hospitality’s Meritage Collection, adds a four-star address to a downtown core that has seen years of office and residential growth but has lacked a dedicated luxury hotel of its own.
The property includes 15 suites and one presidential suite, alongside a Turkish-inspired hammam spa concept, more than 22,500 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, and a rooftop pool and lounge on its 17th floor. Wellness amenities extend into the guest rooms themselves, with red-light therapy mats, weighted blankets, sound therapy devices and compression boots available on request, alongside a 24-hour fitness centre and a dedicated yoga studio. Rooms start at USD 350 a night, plus a USD 39 daily resort fee.
Filling a gap in the downtown market
Linda Ding, the hotel’s general manager, said the opening “meets the growing demand for sophisticated, locally rooted hospitality while ushering in a new era of luxury in Downtown Phoenix.” She added that “every element, from the design and service to our culinary and gathering spaces, has been thoughtfully crafted to deliver a dynamic and memorable guest experience unlike anything else in the city’s urban core.”

Timed to peak season
The September opening lands at the start of the Valley’s peak travel season, when cooler autumn temperatures typically draw more visitors and business travellers back to central Phoenix. With its scale of meeting space, the hotel is also positioned to compete for conference and event bookings that have historically gone to properties in Scottsdale or near the airport rather than downtown itself.
Why it matters
Downtown Phoenix has added office towers, apartments and a growing arts and dining scene over the past decade, but hospitality investment has lagged behind other parts of the metro area. A 236-room upscale hotel anchored in the urban core is a bet that business travellers, conference organisers and leisure visitors are ready to stay downtown rather than commute in from the suburbs, and its performance through its first peak season will be an early test of that wager.
