I am an Emirati educator, researcher and academic professional. I hold a Master’s degree in Education (Management and Policy) and I am an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK). Recognized by the UAE General Women’s Union in the Emirati Women Encyclopedia, I have presented my research at international conferences, including IAFOR Paris and HETL. My research focuses on educational leadership, innovation and student success in higher education. I serve as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Society of Sustainability and Green Materials (SSGM) and as an Advisory Board Member and Editorial Board Member at the Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies. I am passionate about advancing education, research, sustainability and creating meaningful impact through collaboration and community engagement.
While the destination matters, I believe the true value lies in the company we keep throughout the journey and the positive impact we leave behind.
What has your leadership journey in higher education and research looked like?
My leadership journey has been shaped by my commitment to education, research and community service. As an academia professional, I have learned that leadership is about empowering others, fostering growth and creating meaningful impact. Through teaching, mentoring, research, and professional service, I have developed a leadership philosophy based on three pillars: clarity, communication, and compassion. Clarity provides vision and direction, communication builds trust through open and regular dialogue and compassion creates an inclusive environment where people feel valued and supported. These principles have guided my work in higher education, my international research presentations, and my leadership roles as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Society of Sustainability and Green Materials (SSGM) and as an Advisory and Editorial Board Member at the Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies. I believe leadership is a lifelong journey of learning, collaboration, and positive impact.
What impact are you proudest of, in the classroom and beyond?
My academic and professional impact is built on three pillars: education, corporate excellence, and community engagement. As an educator, I bridge academia and industry by equipping students with the technical and soft skills needed to succeed and contribute to the UAE’s sustainable development. My research focuses on lifelong learning, educational leadership and continuous professional development, promoting organizational excellence and career-long growth. Beyond academia, I believe in creating meaningful community impact through leadership and service. As a Member of the Board of Directors of the Society of Sustainability and Green Materials (SSGM) and an Advisory and Editorial Board Member at the Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies, I contribute to initiatives that advance sustainability, research, and knowledge sharing. Through these three pillars, I aim to empower individuals, strengthen organizations and create lasting value for society.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
My greatest achievement is not an award or a title, it is seeing my students flourish and become individuals who create meaningful change in their communities and beyond. Every student who develops the confidence, knowledge and skills to make a positive impact is a reflection of the purpose that drives my work. I believe the true measure of success is not what we achieve ourselves, but how we empower others to grow, lead, and serve. My greatest achievement to date, and the one I hope to continue throughout my career, is inspiring students to make meaningful contributions locally and globally, serving humanity and leaving the world better than they found it. Knowing that I have played a small part in shaping future leaders, innovators and changemakers is the most rewarding accomplishment of my professional journey.
What makes your leadership approach distinct?
What makes my leadership meaningful is my belief that true leadership is measured by the success of others. My impact extends beyond achieving personal milestones, I strive to empower individuals to realize their potential and create meaningful change in their communities. As an educator, I bridge academia and industry by preparing students with the knowledge, skills and mindset needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving world. As a researcher, I contribute evidence-based insights that promote lifelong learning, educational leadership, and organizational excellence. Through my leadership roles in professional and community organizations, I help advance sustainability, research and collaboration that benefit society. I lead with three guiding principles: clarity, communication, and compassion. These values enable me to build trust, inspire growth, and create lasting impact. Ultimately, my greatest measure of success is seeing those I have mentored become confident leaders who continue to make a positive difference locally, nationally and globally.
What advice would you give future women leaders?
My advice to future women leaders is simple: believe in yourself, keep flourishing, and keep making a positive impact. Lead with confidence, but also with compassion and authenticity. Never underestimate the power of your voice, your ideas, or your ability to inspire others. Embrace every opportunity to learn, grow and step outside your comfort zone, because leadership is a journey of continuous development. Remember that true success is not measured by titles or achievements but by the lives you touch and the opportunities you create for others. Lift others as you rise, build meaningful relationships, and never stop learning. Most importantly, lead with purpose and integrity, leaving every place, every community and every generation better than you found it. Your leadership has the power to shape a more inclusive, sustainable and hopeful future.
