IHG Hotels & Resorts said on 7 October 2026 that 42 of its Luxury & Lifestyle properties have been recognised in the 2026 Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards, according to a news release published by InterContinental Hotels Group PLC from London.
Five number-one rankings
The company said properties across all six of its Luxury & Lifestyle brands, which it lists as Six Senses, Regent, InterContinental, Kimpton, Vignette Collection and Hotel Indigo, were recognised in multiple categories and destinations. It listed five number-one rankings:
- Six Senses Fiji, Best Resort in Australasia & South Pacific (UK edition)
- Six Senses Douro Valley, Destination Spa in the World (US edition)
- Six Senses Zighy Bay, Resort in the Middle East (US edition)
- Six Senses Crans-Montana, Resort in Europe (US edition)
- InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, Resort in Asia (US edition)
Indian Ocean and South Asia placings
According to the release’s table of results, Six Senses Kanuhura was ranked 16th and Six Senses Zil Pasyon 21st in the Best Resort in the Indian Ocean category of the UK list, while Six Senses Fort Barwara was ranked third for Best Hotel in India.
IHG described the awards as “one of the longest-running and most influential reader-voted awards programmes”, whose annual rankings “reflect the experiences and preferences of global travellers”. The rankings reported here come from IHG’s own release; this article has not compared them with the published Condé Nast Traveler lists.
Why It Matters
Reader-voted awards are a marketing asset as much as a measure of quality, because they signal to prospective guests which properties are talked about. For a large operator, the spread of recognition across several brands and regions points to the breadth of its luxury portfolio, but the results reflect reader preference rather than independent inspection, so they are best read as an indicator of reputation and demand.
